De Blasio finally endorses Hillary Clinton for President

Mayor de Blasio, who ran Hillary Clinton’s 2000 senate campaign, finally endorsed her for president Friday, an unsurprising development in the 2016 race. But the Democratic frontrunner may have been a bit ticked off that the endorsement did not come sooner.
De Blasio made the announcement everyone expected on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” after months of playing coy.
De Blasio, who always touts his progressive credentials, felt compelled to explain his decision not to endorse lefty 2016 hopeful U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.
“Hey, progressives - I’m supporting Hillary Clinton enthusiastically because we have to take on income inequality,” he said.

Clinton didn’t appear too impressed. Her campaign Friday released a long list of new endorsements. De Blasio’s name isn’t mentioned until the sixth paragraph, after the mayors of Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, a campaign stop in South Carolina was nearly derailed by Black Lives Matter protesters before R&B singer Usher pulled them aside and asked them to give Clinton a chance, TMZ reported.
